Imenja is one of the most beloved orixas of Candomblé the ancient Afro-Yoruban religion practiced in Brazil. She’s known as the queen of the sea and answers prayers related to fertility and abundance. On New Year’s Eve in Brazil her followers go to the beach dressed in white to pay tribute to her with white flowers and candles.
